Dear friend,

I’m glad you’re here. For this first letter, I’d like to sit with you for a moment, without asking you to have anything figured out.

Our first two conversations, You Are Not Lost and Genius in Hiding, begin with something I’ve come to believe through learning, teaching, and living: feeling uncertain about yourself does not mean there is nothing within you worth discovering.

I cannot know all that you have carried. Perhaps you’ve spent years being dependable, making ends meet, caring for others, or doing your best to keep going. Somewhere in that effort, your own interests and questions may have had to wait.

If that sounds familiar, I hope you can meet yourself with a little kindness. You were responding to the life in front of you. You do not have to blame yourself for what received less attention.

When I speak of Genius in Hiding, I mean the gifts, wisdom, curiosity, and energy that are uniquely yours. Sometimes they show themselves quietly: in the way you listen, the problem you notice, the thing you keep learning about, or the care you bring to someone who needs it.

I’m still learning to notice those things in my own life. That is part of why I value these conversations. They give us room to ask better questions together.

You don’t need to turn a discovery into a business or a new life plan. Perhaps the beginning is simply admitting, “This matters to me. I would like to give it some room.”
